Important
reminders when using dog carriers:
1. Never force your dog
to go inside the carrier during the first
time so he will not take it as a punishment.
Be patient in introducing the new equipment
to your pet. Get a dog carrier with generous
openings so that he can see you and the scenery
outside as well
2. For positive reinforcement,
you may give your dog some treats. And for
dogs with chewing habit, non-toxic toys are
a good solution to keep them busy during long
travel.
3. Small dog carriers are
great for calm pets. For your playful one
who keeps on moving, a large size carrier
is recommended to have plenty of space to
move around.
4. If you want to keep your
dog inside the carrier for a long time, you
can open the top or side window of the carrier
so that he will not feel bored by letting
him see the view outside.
5. For safety purposes, you must strap the
carrier in a seatbelt during travel. Doing
this will keep your dog in place and prevent
bumping during sudden stop.
6. If possible, place a soft blanket or pillow
for added comfort. Just like children, dogs
love to lie down on a soft pad. This is also
a great way for your dog to feel relaxed during
long trip.
7. If you are planning to
travel by airplane, consider buying airplane-approved
dog carriers so you can take your pet with
you. Also, know the size restrictions and
other rules of the airline.
